New Spring Menu

Its that time of year again and true to form our chef has created a new menu to celebrate the arrival of Spring. As usual it retains a number of proven favourites but introduces a few variations to suit the season. Click here if you want to view the menu

Smaller Weddings Offers with more Flexibility

For those wanting a slightly smaller wedding with more flexibility on how many rooms are used we have decided to introduce new pricing options for 2017. Our offers for exclusive use of the hotel for your wedding remain in place but additional prices are now available for those who just want to book the venue and a few of the rooms, or to allow your guests to book rooms themselves as suits. For full details of what we can offer and our prices click here. If you cannot see the package to meet your needs please just email or call - as a small, privately-run venue we can be pretty flexible!

Radnorshire Walks

We've recently come across a lovely little book 'Walking The Old Ways of Radnorshire' which has 26 circular walks local to us, including one around Llandrindod Wells. Most walkers will already know the lovely walking available near us in the Brecons or the Elan Valley but this book highlights some of the gorgeous, quieter walks available locally and offers some interesting historical notes as well along with excellent photos. Whether travelling for yourselves or planning for a larger walking group this will give you a great idea of just how lovely the walking in Radnorshire can be. Issued just last year the walks seem fully up-to-date (at least the ones we have tried are). The book is authored by Andy & Karen Johnson and is available either on Amazon or direct from Logaston Press (www.logastonpress.co.uk).

Walking to Llandegly Rocks and Gilwern Hill

As part of the Kington Walks festival we recently did a lovely walk from Builth Wells up along the ridge behind the hotel - along the Gilwern Hill and on to Llandegly Rocks. The views back over the scenery around our hotel were stunning. Not sure my photography can capture it very well but a few photos give the idea.

THE TIMES Recommended Walk links to our Shaky Bridge Walk

Why not try out the local walk recently recommended in THE TIMES (see copy of the page here). It starts at Shaky Bridge, directly linking with our own walk suggestion direct from the hotel - we have had our own little guide on our site for quite a while showing a walk from our door into Llandrindod Wells past the lake and on to Shaky Bridge, a lovely little picnic site next to the river (click here). Nice to see some recognition of the beauty of the local area in a natrional newspaper as we think it is often overlooked!
