Walking.
There are a range of circular walks direct from Three Wells Hotel ranging from 3.5km and flat to 20km and hilly. Enjoy a pleasant stroll to the lake at Llandrindod Wells or go a little further to the beauty spot Shaky Bridge and Cefnylls. Or try something a little more strenuous and walk up Gilwern Hill, Careg-wiber Bank or a longer circular up Carneddau.
We have OS maps available and will always be on hand to point out good routes – within the next few months we hope to upload some routes onto this website so that you can see more directly the excellent walks that are around.
If you don’t mind a short drive before starting your walk then there are hundreds (if not thousands) if walks within a 20-mile radius of Three Wells Hotel. These include those in Radnor Forest and up Great Rhos; a section of the Offa’s Dyke walk along the Anglo-Welsh border; ridges and hills such as Gwaunceste Hill and Glascwm in the Radnor Hills; the beautiful Wye Valley walk along the banks of that river; a section of Glyndwr’s way near Abbey-cwm-hir; various walks in the Elan Valley; and other walks in the wild Cambrian mountains, the ‘green desert of Wales’. A little further drive (30-40 minutes) puts you in the heart of the Brecon Beacons park and peaks such as Pen-y-Fan and Black Mountain.
If you think you can exhaust all of the walking in Mid Wales then let us know, because we can’t!
